My path to jewellery was never a very straight one.

A different world

After university, life took me somewhere completely different.

I found myself in the world of international e-commerce, working with established brands across different markets. My days were filled with meetings, negotiations, contracts, business plans and plenty of airports. It was fast-paced, very international, and for quite a few years, a world I knew well.

Then I started making jewellery

Then, somewhat unexpectedly, I started making jewellery.

There was no plan behind it at first. I simply enjoyed creating things with my hands. I made pieces for myself, then for friends, and slowly began experimenting with different pearls, shapes, proportions and combinations.

In 2022, I moved to Oslo with my family. While still working full-time, I joined a small weekend market almost on a whim, with very few expectations. By the end of the day, every piece I had brought with me was gone.

More than the sales, I remember the conversations. People tried things on, came back with friends, and told me how much they loved the pieces. It was probably the first time I thought: maybe this could become something.

Little by little

CHEZ LOLA grew from there, little by little.

There was never one dramatic moment when I decided to leave one life behind and start another. It happened much more naturally — curiosity became confidence, one market became many, and a small idea slowly began taking up more space in my life.

Looking back, I can see pieces of my life in CHEZ LOLA.

There is the ease and warmth I loved in France, the years spent travelling and working across cultures, and all the different ideas of style I came across along the way. Perhaps that is also why I have never been drawn to jewellery that feels too perfect or too predictable.

Individual by nature

Pearls, especially baroque freshwater pearls, became a natural part of the brand.

I love their individuality. Some are rounder, some beautifully irregular; some have a soft glow, while others catch the light in a completely different way. No two are quite the same, and that is exactly what makes them interesting to me.

That balance has become part of CHEZ LOLA — simple but never plain, feminine without feeling too delicate, timeless with something a little unexpected.

Since 2025, CHEZ LOLA has had a small studio in Oslo, where customers can come by, try things on and discover the pieces in person.

After years of airports, meetings and a very different pace of life, I still find it a little funny that so much of my world now happens around a small table surrounded by pearls.

And I think that might be one of my favourite things about it.
